Being Pigeon Holed – Good citizen journalism by Babel-Fish

As a citizen journalist I hate to be placed into an incorrect pigeon hole, by those that disagree with my center point view, from where I try to find the truth. The problem is if what you see as being the truth opposes a politic or religious indoctrination. A writer is attacked if open to comments such as on an Internet social news group for being left or right of the center point.

To my mind a good citizen journalist should write about any subject from a center point view that is not politically or religiously motivated, trying to give a good balance of any argument.

Let say one writes about the Jewish Arab problem in the Middle East, then there is a need to give the opinions and the problems of both sides of the religious and political problem. Perhaps the history of events and the blame equally divided. The problem there is that the Arab sympathizers will call you a Zionists and the Jewish ones a anti Semitist. I have seen good writers being accused many times of just this on newsgroups especially on Newsvine.com.

If you are a Muslim, Christian or Jew by birth but still a fair and square center point citizen journalist you will at some point by accused by comment on your articles. That you are placing an opinion that’s different to theirs, because of the culture you have or supposed to of been born into, though you maybe an atheist.

I always feel that the center point is important in citizen journalism as anything else is not true citizen journalism its indoctrination or propaganda. The truth how hurtful to once own belief is also important. I see to many people that think they are good or fairly good citizen journalist offer only political or religious propaganda for debate on social newsgroup, rightfully these writers can be pigeon holed for indoctrinators or propagandist but not as citizen journalist.

A true citizen journalist should not be pigeon holed, with anything other than someone seeking the truth and not being affected by any form of indoctrination what so ever.

I consider that I am striving to be a good citizen journalist it’s a hobby that I would like to well, its very hard to keep out of those wrong pigeon holes. But in my heart I know the pigeon hole I fit into that of a truth seeker and I also know many people do not like the truth.
