No thanks to his failed Microsoft ads co-starring with Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Gates has "recovered his spot" as the richest man in America, by beating out Warren Buffett, with a net worth of 57 billion dollars.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates has recovered his spot at the top of the US money heap, displacing investor Warren Buffett as America's richest person, Forbes magazine's latest list reveals.

With 57 billion dollars net worth Gates again leads the list of 400 richest individuals in the world's wealthiest country.

He displaced Buffett who briefly held the position this year but who has seen his Berkshire Hathaway investment group's shares slip 15 percent since February and is now worth 50 billion.
Interestingly, a new addition to the Forbes rich list is 24-year-old Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, who is estimated to be worth $1.5 billion.
A notable arrival was Mark Zuckerberg, 24, founder of the social networking site Facebook. Forbes estimates his worth at 1.5 billion dollars.
Oprah Winfrey also maintained her spot on the list, as the richest woman in America, by growing her fortune to a sizeable $2.7 billion.
About two thirds of the list are self-made billionaires and just over 10 percent are women, led by television star Oprah Winfrey whose fortune rose 200 million dollars to 2.7 billion dollars.
In light of this week's financial meltdown, it will be interesting to see how the richest few, in the world's most powerful nation, will be affected by the crisis.

They better not try any 'naked short sells' on Bill Gates or his Microsoft, cuz he's got the manpower and tech to track the perpetrators down.

And you notice Trump endorsed McCain, I guess because he's #1 an idiot (endorsing a man who admits he's not up on economy matters) and #2 because he's afraid he'll lose most of his money if Obama gets elected.
