BlackBerry's EMEA (Europe-Middle East-Africa) market has been hit with widespread BlackBerry service outages on October 10, 2011. Millions of users are affected by the outage, which The Telegraph characterizes as a "service collapse".

The BlackBerry outage has also affected Microsoft Cloud Service. If you use the BPOS (Business Productivity Online Standard Suite) and you can't connect, it's not just you. BPOS was hit by the outage as well.

It would seem, then, that Microsoft has some of its servers running from the same Slough-based service center as RIM is using. The outage has been going on for hours. [Update: BlackBerry service is still not back up to speed, and global service outages continue as of October 12.]
