Blackberry Outage December 22nd: BBM Outage Could be a Day to Fix

There is another Blackberry Outage today December 22nd and some reports say that the BBM outage could be a day to fix, although it could also be as short as three hours but be prepared for longer just in case.

There are no e-mails, web browsing or Blackberry Messenger for the North American users at this time.

Lots of reports have been coming in over the past hour of BlackBerry Messenger service being on the fritz. You'll sometimes get a check mark on a sent message, but not the D or the R signifying that the message has been delivered and read.

Some users' messages are going through and some are just coming right back to the sender.

Users are reporting that T-Mobile and AT&T are affected, as is Rogers in Canada.

THis is affecting Central America also, Panama don't have data cover on any carrier for bb users.

Sprint told me @ 4:00 pst that it would be fixedby 7:23pst but its not yet, i think thats just what they were telling people, tired of waiting!

It's the second time that Blackberry has failed in less than a week. People are fuming and vented on Twitter.

Hundreds of messages are hitting social-network services like Twitter every few minutes from users experiencing problems. The volume indicates the problems are widespread and across more than one carrier.

The support line and RIM's Internet-based support forums offered no additional information on how long the outage is expected to last.

Email and internet access down. What is surprising is that that even web access using wifi is down - anyone know why BES/BIS outage would effect my going to google.com using a wifi-connection?
