BlackBerry service is still not back up to speed. Arguably it has gotten worse: RIM's smartphone network is now broken around the world, whereas before the BlackBerry outages were limited to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Individual service providers are powerless to solve the problem, which lies with RIM's technology. Users are furious, and are demanding compensation for the service problems that are now in their third day.

This is fantastic news for Apple, whose iOS5 drops today. Regarding compensation for BlackBerry users, RIM has been silent. Come to think of it, BlackBerryHelp's Twitter feed hasn't been too vocal, either.

One can only presume that RIM's PR team is on BlackBerry, and has not yet gotten the memo that something is amiss.

Dear Blackberry, I think it's nice that you're honouring Steve Jobs' death with a 3 day silence
