Blockbuster Launches Internet Movie Downloads

Time to turn off those BitTorrent clients, kids, Blockbuster Video is now offering feature length movie downloads.
To better compete with Netflix and others, Blockbuster video will debut a new service today that will allow customers to download movies from their computer via the internet. The service is “Blockbuster on Demand” and will require a box in order to utilize the new service. Customers can get the box free if they rent 25 movies in advance for $99.

This photo was taken during the 2008 annual zombie walk in Calgary, Alberta Canada. This Blockbuster is on 17th ave in Calgary. This Blockbuster often changes it's caption on the marquis to reflect current events in the city. The captions are often clever and entertaining.

The perspective shot with Blockbuster Video to the right was taken on a VERY COLD morning in the St. Louis - Loop area. It's a great place to go and watch people from different backgrounds. Hardly anyone was out on this day.

I took this picture of my neighborhood Blockbuster because it has a "Yes on Measure FF" poster in the window. This was a bond measure to help fund the renovation of Berkeley's four branch libraries. It required a 2/3 vote and got 68%! I love my home town.

I have friend who manages a Blockbuster store in High Point, N.C., and whenever I spot one in another state or country, I get a shot for him. This is in Falls Church, Va.
