Bluescope invests $113 mln in expansion project

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Steel producer PT BlueScope Steel Indonesia is investing another US$113 million to expand its factory at the Cilegon industrial estate in Banten province, an Industry Ministry official said.
"The company intends to triple its production capacity," Director General of Metal, Machinery, Textile and Multifarious Industries Anshari Bukhari said here Tuesday.
But he stopped short of revealing the current production capacity of the downstream steel industry.
Industry Minister Fahmi Idris is slated to lay the cornerstone for the construction of the project on Tuesday afternoon.
The project is scheduled for completion in mid 2009. (*) END
