Boediono Installed as BI governor

Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court for Judicial Affairs Mariana Sutadi on behalf of Supreme Court Chairman Baqir Manan on Tuesday installed and swore in Boediono as a new governor of Bank Indonesia (the central bank/BI).

Boediono, who was previously the coordinating minister for economic affairs in the United Indonesia Cabinet was appointed to the top post in the central bank, replacing Burhanuddin Abdullah whose term of office expired on May 17, 2008.

Also present at the swearing-in ceremony were Vice President Jusuf Kalla, Coordinating Minister for People`s Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa, Cabinet Secretary Sudi Silalahi, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, Industry Minister Fahmi Idris, State Enterprises Minister Sofyan Djalil, State Minister for Cooperatives and Small Enterprises Suryadharma Ali, Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Manpower and Transmigration Minister Erman Suparno, Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) Rusman Heriawan and members of the board of BI governors.

Boediono was intalled as BI governor under Presidential Decree No.34/P/2008 dated May 15, 2008.(*) end
