Egypt is one of the Top 10 most preferred destinations for companies looking to offshore their IT and call center functions, according to a ranking of top outsourcing destinations released last week by global management consultancy AT Kearney.

AT Kearney also predicts that the Middle East will be one of the fastest growing areas for Outsourcing in the next decade.

It was welcomed news for Egypt's government, which has been promoting Cairo as a call center destination for the last nine years, and for Cairo's booming call center industry.

A key player that will benefit is a U.S.-based company that has been spearheading the Cairo trend for the past seven years, with the blessings of the Egyptian government.  Beyond Media, a New Brunswick, N.J. -based company offering outsourced contact center/BPO services in Cairo,  expects Egypt to make the Top Five in the coming years as India, the Phillipines and other global players lose market share.

"It is an important time for Cairo as the Contact Center world
begins to recognize that we offer our clients the cost advantages
required to compete in today's economy without sacrificing their customers
along the way," said Wasseem Boraie, chairman of Beyond Media.

"Contact center outsourcing to Cairo is less than a decade old.  One key in
retaining your front line reps is an experienced middle management team.
Beyond Media has been successful because we have deployed seasoned US
directors to help transfer that experience to our talented native team
members," he added.

A DataMonitor report in 2007 cites Egypt as the fastest growing Outsourcing market on the globe.

A new report cited in Information Week cites Cairo as one of the Top Ten "Safest Places" to do IT business.
