Call of Duty WaW gasps for air in a Video Game War
Released in 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is still one of the most played and enjoyable multiplayer games. On November 2008 Call of Duty: World at War was released, the game takes place in WWII like the first three games.
COD World at War's sales suffered compared to the 10 million copies sold by Modern Warfare. Players who fell in love with the modern style battlefield did not want to go back to the old WWII setting. Although unlike previous games, World at War surprised fans of the series with a Nazi Zombie bonus mission. At first the bonus mission was unlockable by completing the main story, but as the Nazi Zombie mission became popular, the mission was unlocked for everyone, including owners of the game who had not completed the main story. Demand by fans to add another Nazi Zombie mission grew, and on March 19, 2009 a purchasable map pack is available on Xbox Live.
Ive grown to like the Zombie missions myself and have found them very fun to play, though not as intense at Valve's "Left 4 Dead" Zombie game, the Nazi Zombie missions bring unstoppable hordes of uniformed men which make for a good survival game.
If Call of Duty: World at War releases more Zombie mission packs, there may just be a chance to bring more sells to the dying video game.
