NP Rank:
Can Downtimes in the Economy Restore Your Faith in Humanity?
At a business meeting in Seattle this past Monday evening, 12 companies met together seeking ways to support each other in these difficult times. One member of the group, Aaron Tallman, owns and operates Elite IT. He has a novel approach to setting his fees. He simply lets his clients decide how much they want to pay him.
Pam Jones runs Jones Design Studios. She agrees that the economy has the service provider at a disadvantage, but Aaron’s approach is surprising.
Chris Saffer, a high power executive coach who as been running a Consulting Company called Solutions5 Consulting evaluates the personality stability of business executives all the time, and he’s paid to be frank with them. He was non committal about where Aaron ranks regarding need for therapy, but he was impressed by the simple courage of the commitment.
Another associate at the meeting was Ataa Newman, a hard core database programmer who’s services support the group. Ataa has many clients, and some of them can be seen on the “Clients” page of his website, www.searcheyes.com. Ataa promises he won’t be adopting Aaron’s tactics any time soon. People tend to undervalue programming because they don’t see it happening and what is really involved. Ataa wants to be there to make sure they appreciate what goes on behind the scenes.
Aaron has an unassuming website, and he’s an unassuming kind of guy. You can see the approach he takes to business by looking at his site at www.yousetthefeeit.com. Aaron has a Video Page too, and on it you can see him explain his approach to fee setting in person. Watch it. His simple sincerity will help you to restore your faith in humanity.
