CHANGE MANAGEMENT IS A LONG HAUL

We all want immediate rewards for our efforts. Ours is an instant gratification society. We want it all and we want it now. So we look for the easiest, shortest, fastest route to reach a goal. We feel pain we take the instant relief tablet advertised on every TV screen. We drink instant coffee, eat fast food, and pick up an instant weight loss programme to get thin. Why have I touched upon this ‘instant’ theme is that no change can be brought about instantly, be it a change in your business environment or a weight loss programme. Who can be a better judge than a change management practitioner to know the value of patience and resolve in handling a change.

There is a lot happening in business environment which qualifies as change. New companies are springing up every day trying to snatch away your clientele. The new companies may also try to lure your manpower by offering them higher wages. These changes in the trade or in the individual worker will affect your business.  Business organisations are therefore on the lookout for change management practitioners who can identify change and not let it adversely affect the business. Doing change management training is therefore an asset for you if you want to be counted amongst the rare breed of management professionals.

If resolve was needed for an effort that guaranteed instant results you would never be short of it. Problem comes when you need to resolve for long term gains. Most of the efforts requiring willpower and resolve are the efforts that promise future rewards that are not instantly apparent. The payoff will come eventually, the relief will be longer lasting and the benefits will be much greater. Change management training techniques teach you to opt for permanent solutions to change issues arising in your organisation and not seek instant, albeit temporary relief.

Change management practitioner handles not only individual change but also team change. In addition, he has to look at the change in top management policies, fiscal policies and the change in government policies which may affect his enterprise. The correct identification of these changes will decide the overall well being of your business. As a change management practitioner you will have to devise a step by step approach to achieve success in handling change. Take the action of joining a change management course to reap the rewards in future.

After identification of change, the next step is taking remedial measures to handle the change. If you seek instant relief or gratification then it means you are not exercising your will. Unfortunately, quick and easy is not healthy or better. The lack of resolve weakens the will  to  handle change. The long haul is a rough road to travel, and a better life awaits you somewhere down the line. It may not be as lucrative as instant gratification but at the end of the rough road is the rainbow of success. Become a change management practitioner and touch the rainbow of success.
