Hopefully a production version of this car should be on sale by 2010 / 2011. Essentially the wheels are powered electrically, while there is a gasoline motor which recharges the electricals when the battery gets low. You can also recharge the battery from home via standard home outlet. The gas motor never powers the wheels directly, so you could theoretically drive this car without ever using a drop of gas!
