AI Chatbots Talk to Each Other, Terrify Humanity

If you 've ever trolled Cleverbot (don't lie to me, you totally have), you have wondered what happened if a modern AI chatbot ever talked to another of its kind.

Wonder no more. Cleverbot had a conversation with Cleverbot, and the result was both hilarious and surreal. I really like Male Cleverbot's Mad Men-inspired suit. Female Cleverbot's accent seems to swing between Indian and Bond-villain Eastern European.

I am not a robot. I am a unicorn.
Cleverbot

Cleverbot is designed to emulate human communication, but it in turn needs human input. Robot-on-robot action will cause weird stuff to happen in the input phase, which in turn causes weird output. That said, the robot conversation in the video below could easily have taken place in a dorm-room party at 4am.

The speed of each bot's response gives the conversation a combative feel, though one of the bot's lines ("Do you want to have a body?") was oddly/awkwardly flirtatious.

The experiment was carried out by Cornell Univerity's Creative Machines Lab.
