With the large number of gadgets capable of 3d video and photos, some confusion arises about the difference between 3d and stereo vision. Stereo vision is when you have two pictures (stereo pair) that have to be viewed with both eyes. The pictures were taken with two lenses separated horizontally. The two pictures can overlap on screen and can be separated with glasses. On the other hand you get  3d video, which  is different. It consists of only one picture taken with one camera, but when the image rotates on screen, the brain interprets it as a 3D image. The trick lies in your camera technique. You have to move the camera up and down or sidewayes or rotate the object to get the brain to interpret it in 3D. With stereo vision the two lenses must only be separated horisontally, which is a limitation. On the other hand, with stereo vision you can get images in front of the screen which is not possible with 3D video.
