Cornell Email Scandal: Sexy Emails Sent to Entire Business School
The Cornell Business School's tech consultant accidentally sent his entire email correspondence with his married lover to the entire business school. Both "John X" and "Lisa" are married, and have been carrying on an affair, as is evidenced in the rather cringe-worthy email exchange below. As per the laws of nature, once this hit the listserv, it was only a matter of time (measured in seconds) before the Cornell email scandal went web-wide. And it just did.
If you want to read the email thread (and you know you will), it's in the link below, and it's not exactly safe for work (though there are no pics or video). Even if I never posted this story, chances are that you'd hear about it within the next 24 hours anyway, which makes the whole thing even more mortifying for John and Lisa: they're not just dealing with their own angry spouses, but with an entire planet of people laughing about it. Because it is funny (there, I said it), but it's also an object lesson in how unforgiving the Internet can be of anything that can be repurposed into a joke or a meme.
But, NO ONE, and we mean NO ONE has had a worse email gaffe than John X did about an hour ago. The Cornell Business School Tech Consultant managed to pass on his entire long and very steamy exchange with his mistress, Lisa (another Cornell Business Employee), TO THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. Both are married. Click below for the entire email exchange, including photos of the two. It seems like a joke, but we assure you, this is real life, folks, and it’s not pretty.
Cornell's administrative staff have already crafted a public response:
Some of you received an inappropriate email this afternoon that was accidentally sent to one of our listserves. On behalf of the School, I would like to apologize for this error and ask you to discard this email.
For the love of all you hold dear, if you have an affair with someone in your workplace, do NOT use that workplace's email to communicate, and make sure that there's zero chance of accidentally sending your compromising messages to the entire planet.

Oh no. Oh no, oh no, oh no! I read them, well, some of them. There's only so much repetitive inanity one can have on a Monday evening.
Serves them right, say I.

That's so funny! Well... not for them.
She's so good, she could be giving lessons on how to spice up your relationship - with your SPOUSE.

I read a few but they were getting a little cringe-worthy.
I did once do a reply all and included a client on an email who I meant to send it to one of my sales guys telling him to calm the client down from the histrionics. Ever since I have double checked the address fields as to who will get the email before I hit send. Once burnt, always a little more careful

You have to be SO careful. I have never done anything professionally, but once I sent an email to a female friend complaining about a (mutual) male friend who was constantly asking me out and really annoying me with it. But I sent it to the male friend by accident...! He was so good about it but I learned a very hard lesson.

I found the fact that it was "The JOHNSON School" hilarious, myself. I do feel sorry for the spouses involved; however, the divorce lawyers will have an easy workday.
