A group of residents in Milton, England blocked a Google street view car when it began taking pictures of their homes. Police were called to a group protesting the street view service, saying it violated their privacy.

The demonstrators blocked the car from moving forward or taking pictures on Friday, with the residents saying it was intrusive and they should have been consulted, and Google saying it observes UK law and only films from public areas.

Google also says they have a plan which allows homes to be removed from the service.

Police were called to Broughton after residents staged the protest accusing Google of invading their privacy and "facilitating crime".

Councillor John Bint told the BBC the camera mounted on a car was intrusive and people should have been consulted.
