This year i think it’s pretty much right to say that this country has hit a recession and every one is feeling the strain, with high street stores lowering their prices to all time lows, and stores are being left open through out most of the Christmas period as they have lost a total of 10% on the year in sales and many are feeling the strain of the weakening economy.

Yet top experts say that come Christmas day that will all change and a lot of money lost in revenue by the high street stores will be made up on Christmas day, with it reporting to hit around £100 million on Christmas day alone. It’s believed to hit this amount as a mass of 6 million people will be logging on Christmas day. As so many stores have lost out with a 10% drop in sales they had to go to measures of having knock down prices through out the stores, having the stores opened later and many to boost sales are having their January sales early this year. This is why many people will be having far less bough the day before Christmas as they want to pick up a bargain come Christmas day, with so many deals that wont be a problem for the customer.

It’s believed that even though the country has seen a decline in sales this year of 10% the money that was lost through lack of sales would be made up on, and through out the Christmas period.

They could predict that the money would be made up as many people on Christmas day receive money or vouchers from loved ones, and this will be the time for them to start spending, which is going to be great news for the economy and the hard hit stores.
