Canadian Thanksgiving just wrapped up, and sure enough Cyber Monday is trending on Google this morning. The Monday right after the American Thanksgiving has always been considered a kick-off for the period of retail sales between Thanksgiving and Christmas when consumers run amok and shell out thousands of dollars on seasonal gifts and purchases online. Now, the American Thanksgiving is on November 26 this year, which means Cyber Monday in the States will fall on November 30.

However, now that Canadians celebrated their Thanksgiving, the great online retail boost period has begun in North America. And, although Canadians did not head back to work on Monday, October 13, it is now officially "not too early" to start shopping for Christmas presents in Canada. The month-and-a-half time difference between the onset of the online retail season in Canada and the States will sure benefit the Canadian economy, especially that the Canadian dollar is almost at par with the American currency right now.

This year as always, the Cyber Monday promises to be a day for great online promotions. Online retailers experience a significant upsurge in sales on Monday after American Thanksgiving, so inciting even more interest with online promos has been the trend so far.
