Dairy Australia committed to Indonesian market

An Australian Embassy media release on Saturday said the seminar, hosted by the peak body for the Australian dairy industry, Dairy Australia, was been warmly welcomed by Australia`s Senior Trade Commissioner, Rod Morehouse.

"We are very pleased to have Dairy Australia in Indonesia this week to share information with Indonesian food producers and dairy users on the issues affecting this sector, as well as provide details on the significant technical and quality advances in Australia`s dairy industry," Morehouse said.

"Australia`s primary producers are committed to long term supply into Indonesia and the important contribution our high-quality agricultural inputs have for Indonesian food producers and consumers, particularly in ensuring food safety, is well known both in Australia and here in Jakarta," he added.

Meanwhile, Dairy Australia`s Manager of International Policy, Phill Goode, said the two factors of tightening international supply and strong global demand had caused the current global shortage of dairy products and high prices.
