The photo here I like to call "The Passtime of Champions!" I, like most people, started out with a MySpace profile, when Facebook came along, I found it to be less, shall we say, crowded and flashy than MySpace.
Facebook focuses on what's important, communication. The interface is slick and easy to peruse, in no way competing with daily status, link posts, photos, etc. It's nice to get a daily glimpse into what your friends, both near and far, are up to. It's a dream for those of us who are not so great with the letter writing and phone calls. Plus, there are plenty of fun applications to take up your time, should you choose to go that route.
Also, I'd like to add to the demographic statistics in the article, I'm in the 35-64 age range (being 40) with the majority of my friends hovering around that age range as well. My father, 71, just created a profile so he can get that daily glimpse from his kids, all of whom are on Facebook! Our times are truly amazing, it's getting harder to recall life without cyberspace. :)
