As soon as yesterday, new Malware called "Defense Center", claiming to be a anti-virus program has started to attack new PCs. In technical terms this kind of programs are called Rogue Software. For those who are new in this field, refer to full article about Rogue Computer Software on Wikipedia.

Essential feature of these programs is simulated computer system scan for viruses, later asking user to pay for a full software version in order to remove found threats. In fact, the viruses that Defense Center claims to have detected are not real, and the only this that user should be concerned about is the rogue itself.

As Defense Center has just been run, there has not been lots of information on Google about the scam yet. Most of these programs can be removed by Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware spyware removal tool. This case really should not be an exception. This is one of the sites suggesting Defense Center removal instructions.

Anyone who has paid for Defense Center should contact their bank card supplier and ask for the payment to be cancelled.
