Dispute over European IMF leader

Five of the world's main emerging economies have called for the end of the tradition that the head of the IMF should be an European. In a joint statement IMF directors from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa said the convention was obsolete, they said it fail to reflect the growing role of developing countries in the world economy and undermines the legitimacy of the funds.
