DONDA Media has launched its first product, a site called WhoDat.biz.

[Update: WHODAT is surely fake. Well, it's a real WhoIs lookup site, but it doesn't belong to DONDA Media. When you use whodat.biz to do a lookup on WHODAT, the result listing is formatted differently than those of other lookups. Suspicious.

Also, if you do a Command/Ctl-U view of WHODAT's source code (in Firefox), you'll see that its Google Analytics ID is not present. Hmmm... why would the real DONDA hide that?]

All WHODAT ("The Facebook of Websites") does is look up WhoIs info... and it doesn't do it particularly well. (To be fair, WhoDat.biz is still in beta, but what niche does it hope to fill?).

WhoIs info is pretty easy to find as it is, and site owners can keep their WhoIs info secret upon registration if they are so inclined. So, "the Facebook of Websites" is copying services that have existed for as long as the internet as we know it has existed, and pretty much throws a new skin on it.

To say that we're underwhelmed would be an understatement.
