Don't Get Yourself Fired: Can Generation Y Keep a Secret?

In collaboration with the Bored at Work Network, Brian Lehrer (WNYC) asked listeners to contribute answers to What’s the smartest thing your company is doing to cope with inflation? And what’s the dumbest?

What actually got my attention as much as the topic was the following advice: "By the way, don’t get yourself fired: be anonymous or evasive about your identity or your employer’s if needed to protect yourself!"

Following this bit of advice is plain common sense yet with the proliferation of social networking sites and the like, some of us tend to forget that like slugs in the garden we can leave a mark of our passage.
