Widespread use of SMS and Internet in Pakistan has promoted e-cards and eclipsed the business of traditional Eid cards.
Stalls of traditional Eid cards at Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, G-10 Markaz and Karachi Company – all major business districts of federal capital Islamabad – were seen awaiting customers.
Options of SMS, multi-media message (MMS), voice message, online chatting etc are cheaper than traditional greeting cards. Animated and attractive E-cards have grabbed the market.
