Edward Anatolevich Hill 'Trololo' Vocaliz Video Builds Viral Buzz
Trololo Lololololololol, sings Edward Anatolevich Hill
If "trololo" doesn't mean anything to you yet, just keep reading... and watching. This video, consisting of a guy just singing "trololo-lolololo..." popped onto our radar several days ago, but now it won't go away. I felt compelled to find out the story behind the Trololo Guy. His name is Edward Anatolevich Hill, and the song is called "I Am So Happy to Finally Be Back Home". The style is called vocaliz, which is singing without words.
I defy you to watch these videos without smiling.
It's from a Russian TV show, and it's a pretty weird lip-synching performance, especially since there are no words to remember, but I didn't know any more about it than that.
It's somewhat fascinating in and of itself that this goofy little video can be so opaque: it's all over the web, but few seem to know anything about it... rather, not many who know about this sort of thing are posting on English-speaking websites.
There's an older version of the Trololo Song, oddly enough, sung by Muslim Magomaev in a film called The Blue Spark.
Either way, if Rickrolling seems played-out, here's your new candidate.
