Recent news in my local city... The city of Detroit Lakes, as of Jan. 1, 2010, the electric utility will be raised at least 10% of it's current costs. This is supposed to help with the costs of repairs and such..... To many this is a huge disapointment considering the city officials all asked for a 8,000 dollar raise per year. Isn't that something to think about. So, when you city raises it's utility costs by 10% or more, think of what the city officials are getting paid first, then aske yourself this, "Should I hop off the grid?"

I really hope that you do. Eventually, there will be a time that everyone is going to go back to the days of no luxuries.... I will argue this to the death. You city folks out there that are reading this are really going to have a tough time with it for the simple fact is that is all you have ever known. I would really start making plans on how to get off the grid inside city limits. I already have and am currently working on building my own generator that 1) does not cause green house gasses and 2) does not take any fuel to run whatsoever. In this case, it has its own power source and runs off of its own power supply.... Anyone care to know how? Wait till I finish building mine then I may start selling the plans for it....
