Good news for all Scrabulous fans - it's back on Facebook! It's pretty much the same, except it's now named Lexulous, and for those of us playing it when it went off last summer, our unfinished games, statistics, and Bingos have been retained. Thanks Rajat and Jayant!
Scrabulous, which became a rage following its launch on Facebook, was taken off after Hasbro, who held the rights to the word game Scrabble, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the founders of the online game -- brothers Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla -- and their company RJ Softwares. After a battle in court, the Agarwallas were allowed to continue with their version, but only after a small change. "We were allowed to continue with our version, as long as we changed the name, since the earlier one (Scrabulous) seemed identical to the original name (Scrabble)," confirms Jayant. On December 12, Hasbro withdrew the lawsuit.
Your favorite word game on Facebook is back as LEXULOUS! All your existing games can still be accessed and your ratings have been preserved :) Lexulous is a great way to stay in touch with your friends. Simply start games with them (you may play as many games simultaneously as you want) and play your moves whenever you are free.
