I cropped the ads out and now I Am Public. About as public as I want in this situation.
Thanks to Facebook, I have rediscovered old schoolmates, bandmates,
high-school crushes and made new, otherwise undiscovered talents and new friends.
The kicker is that with one click of the 'share' option offered by Now Public
my posts are now being read by more folks and published worldwide, in places
like Facebook, MySpace, Blogger, etc. What writer doesn't seek exposure ?
It's not like you need to disseminate the entire details of yourself, only well-placed
and relevant bits, enough to create a loyal reader base. Oddly enough this is something
I touched on with another (ahem!) writer only this morning !
Bottom line in my case is I don't have anything of financial consequence that might be considered worth using for illegal gains. That's just me. For the others I suggest you weigh the pros and cons of all the Facebook-type businesses out there.
