(JUNEAU, Alaska) – Officials at the state-owned Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) announced today that they are ringing in the New Year by offering free, wireless internet to travelers passing through the airport’s new passenger terminal.

“We’re very pleased to offer this service to the travelling public,” said Angie Spear, FAI’s business development manager. “This is something we have been working on since the terminal construction project began more than a year ago.”

“The new terminal provides a dramatically-enhanced travel experience both for visitors and local travelers arriving and departing from Fairbanks,” said Commissioner Leo von Scheben, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. “Many travelers, like me, will appreciate the connectivity that the free wireless will provide.”

The facilities’ passenger friendly features include vastly improved processing capacity for arriving, international passengers, an enlarged restaurant and gift shop, and an overall bright and uniquely Alaskan ambiance.
