I'm technically on vacation this week so I missed Gnomedex this year.  Too bad because it sounds like there were some real theatrics.  According to CNet:

uber-blogger Robert Scoble, who at one point during the session oddly got up out of his seat near the front of the auditorium and marched towards the back of the room to tensely confront author and entrepreneur Geoff Livingston.

Livingston retorts on twitter:

#gnomedex Scoble hijacks Lacy conversation and turns into the PR Sucks meme. I'm going to the toilet and hope this convo reboots.

more to come I'm sure...

This story is completely false.

I actually suggested that Robert go talk to the gentleman because he was talking about Scoble like he was some higher power.   He didn't hijack anything and there were zero fireworks.

Interesting.  The impression that CNET gives is that this was a significant event during the session.  I couldn't find anyone blogging about it in the same terms.

Robert has discovered Photosynth, and he was running around the room at Gnomedex taking as many photos as he could so he could make a synth. Here he's standing on an Aeron chair, which I figured would fall out from under him. This photo was just before Sarah Lacy's speech, where Robert got into it over PR people and bloggers, a sore point with him and many others. My view? Ignore the PR peeps and write about what interests you. TechMeme isn't the end of the world; I don't even look at it. Do you?
