I was astounded at the crowd of people inside the first Starbucks. I shouldn't have been, but still, it was completely packed with tourists paying homage to the coffee giant. The coffee slung at the original Starbucks is wonderful. They brew Pike Place blend and still pull their shots by hand. I think it's funny that at (presumably) the busiest store they still take the time to pull the shots. At all of the offshoots they have the machines where you just push buttons, making a poor approximation of good espresso.
I had the audacity to use a coupon for a complimentary drink here—you know, the ones they give you when they screw up your drinks or generally have a miserable experience.
This coffee was worth the wait.
