Foreclosure of a homeless shelter has been delayed, thanks to bankruptcy filing. The owner has fought off the auction at the last minute by resorting to this strategy. Judy Jones has been heading the Bread of Life Mission for a long time. She said, “We’re trying to do this so people have a place to live. These people can have a Thanksgiving knowing that after Thanksgiving they have a place to go to sleep and rest”.
The piece of land in Punta Gorda City in Florida has old dormitories and a kitchen placed outdoors. It admits those who do not find a place elsewhere in Naples, Fort Myers and in Charlotte County. Since the past few years the county officials and advocates for the homeless have been worked about the condition of the shelter.
