Luckily for David Radler, the National Parole Board says it doesn't really know what to do about the former newspaper executive's basic problem:

"Your greed has resulted in this sentence and the Correctional Service of Canada has no programs identified on your correctional plan to address this stressor," the board wrote.

Former newspaper executive David Radler has been released on parole from a Canadian prison, according to media reports Monday.

Radler, who was once Conrad Black's right-hand man, testified in a plea deal against him when Black and other Hollinger International executives were on trial in 2007 on charges that they swindled shareholders through non-compete payments.

In December, Radler was sentenced to 29 months in a Pennsylvania prison for his role in the affair. He was later transferred to a Canadian prison to finish his sentence.

Black was convicted in Illinois on obstruction of justices charges. He was sentenced in July of 2007 to six-and-a-half years in a Florida prison where he remains. Radler's testimony was seen as key to the high-profile conviction.
