Forty battery-powered Peugeot's hit the streets of Glasgow

Forty battery-powered Peugeot 207 cars and Peugeot Eurobus taxis will be used in Glasgow over the next two years in a trial.
This is a test by a group including power companies and teaching groups, including the Scottish Government to see how well low-carbon vehicles proform in the city.
The electric cars have been developed by Allied Vehicles in Glasgow and have batteries supplied by Axeon of Dundee.
Glasgow City Council, ScottishPower, Strathclyde University and Scottish Enterprise are also part of the consortium.
The funding came from the Technology Strategy Board, as part of a government project testing low-carbon vehicles.

This is great news to see we are leading the way in helping test new technology.
Glasgow is a great city, but one of it's downfalls is that central Glasgow is very dirty.
Anything that helps it breath easy gets a thumbs up from me.
