Gennady Timchenko gets involved in the Future Hockey Challenge

The Swiss city of Geneva hosted this spring the Future Hockey Challenge, an international youth hockey competition aimed at discovering tomorrow’s gifted players and notably sponsored by Finnish businessman Gennady Timchenko.

The Geneva Future Hockey Challenge is a hockey tournament involving the most talented European young hockey players. The tournament is an old tradition for hockey scouting which had disappeared for ten years.

The businessman and sponsor Gennady Timchenkoparticipated to a rebirth of this competition through its foundation Neva in order to recreate this milestone of youth hockey. Moreover, this international exposure allowed young players to discover a new atmosphere.

“Our goal is to organize a hockey tournament which can offer to the youngest a cultural and playful experience”, the organizers of the competition said.

The teams involved in this competition come from all around the world, notably North America, Europe, Asia, Middle East.

This tournament, which was organized from April 1st to April 3rd, also offered to the Swiss crowd a professional exhibition game between Russian hockey stars and a World star team, with Gennady Timchenko as a guest star on the ice.

Gennady Timchenko’s Neva foundation is notably financing cultural and sport projects aimed at creating cultural connections.
