German government says we should not use MS Internet Explorer
A German government department have released a statment warning computer users in Germany that they should not use Microsofts Internet Explorer [IE] browser.
The Federal Office for Information Security have went as far as suggesting that users find a alternative browser to IE to protect their security.
It comes only days after Microsoft themselves admitted that IE was the browser that was used in recent attacks on Google and that was made possible because of a security problem.
The German government has warned web users to find an alternative browser to Internet Explorer to protect security. The warning from the Federal Office for Information Security comes after Microsoft admitted IE was the weak link in recent attacks on Google's systems.
Microsoft rejected the warning, saying that the risk to users was low and that the browsers' increased security setting would prevent any serious risk.
However, German authorities say that even this would not make IE fully safe.

One of the reasons I prefer Firefox, along with the wonderful ad bloc plus which gets rid of the pesky adverts on this and many other sites.

Ooooooh boy.
MS & Google ain't eggzactle the best of friends as it is/was.
This takes the browser war to dizzying heights.
Should Google be launching cruise missiles against Redmond? Will Chrome install a defensive missile shield on your computer? Will Sergey Brin call for UN sanctions?

Thank you for reposing the Firefox Add-Ons review. I'm going to try some of them.

You wonder when Internet Explorer will get their act together. Once a patch is brought in "out of cycle" (the regular one is not due until 7th Feb.) it still leaves the problem of the sites or PC's already infected with malware.
Does setting security to "high" as recommended my Microsoft in respect of this news make a difference?

I wouldn't risk it Christina, like most of us it time you try another.
Most are faster and have great plug-in's.
I use Chrome but have also used Firefox tons too, would reccomend both.
