Verkehrsverbund Rhein Ruhr (VRR), a transport authority of numerous cities in the West German state of Northrhine Westphalia, has cut its contractual ties to German national railway carrier over fraud allegations - costing the carrier €400 m in revenues.
The move comes at a time when Deutsche Bahn tried to windowdress for its IPO next year.

Markus Schlegel, I like this story. It's good stuff. We need to come up with a catchy graphic for your audio program...

Thanks a lot Jordan for marking.
The photo I uploaded is somewhat illustrative, altough not very appetizing, I am afraid. It is a good representation of how the majority of Deutsche Bahn's local trains look.

That photo has texture... but not in a good way! Reminds me of the old BritRail trains.
