Here's few hints, how to recognize spam.
1) There is no personal information about you. Spam mails are sent to several people, so they cannot add personal detailes to it. Like here Nina says that "she" read my profile, but she does not mention any detail from it. Sometimes, if your email address is pasi.hakkarainen@something.com, you may get email for pasi.hakkarainen.
2) They ask you to answer to different email address. Spam comes from false email, or like in this case, from a user profile, which is soon closed by the site admins.
3) They make promises, which no intelligent person would not make for unknown people. Like pictures, relatinship, marriage etc.

Somehow NP keeps on loosing my writing to this article, so I try to write it here.

I hope this one will not disappear.

When you guys/gals get messages like that, just let me know, along with the username of the person/robot who sent it... I'll then take action.

Yeah, because Jordan can get quite antsy when these women cheat on him, I've been there, it's hard being all Godlike, all in the name of a bank account.

I thought I was going to get lucky :(

If you send enough money to them, you'll get lucky by learning something new!

Pasi, I like this story. It's good stuff.

Several of those types have come in recently. My question is: when long-time known contributors have to fill out the darned spam CAPTCHA thing to send just one email, how are these spammers able to mass mail members here without any hinderance? That's weird.
And darn, we never get any of these from good-lookin' guys who are searching for their true love, and they can do carpentry, cook, vacuum, and etc............. ;}

Have you not had my email yet PEP? though I clearly state in it I don't do carpentry!
at 07:32 on July 9th, 2008
Well, darn it all. And here I had my hopes up. You SURE you don't do carpentry?
I'm not up to date with a lot of the stuff going on around here at NP. I'm starting a new writing job, still at work on 2 books, and have learned that when I run my work programs, such as Word and big photo/art programs, I have to be careful about what else I load on, so I only drop in here on brief breaks.
Are you SURE you don't do carpentry? Maybe electrical work instead? Do you run errands and wash the dog? Girls want to know these things, you know. ;}

You too?
Another whacko, "they are out to silence us", left-wing conspiracy theory bites the dust.
Sigh....
Back to the third tower!

Pasi, I like this story. It's good stuff. I got one of these the other day but by that time they had been removed from the system. It's one of those nigerian/liberian money scams.
