Facebook has just launched Global Relief on Facebook to help manage the flow of information flow on Facebook about earthquake devastated Haiti. Randi Zuckerberg who manages (among other things) Facebook's non-profit efforts says Facebook wants Global Relief on Facebook to be a resource for individuals and organizations, more specfically,

"to serve as a collaborative resource for individuals, non-profits, governments and industry to raise awareness for those in need around the world. We're inviting relief organizations to be part of this effort so they can further highlight the needs in Haiti and during times of future crises.

Social Media sites like Facebook have been swamped with people expressing their support and seeking ways to help the people of Haiti.  Randi Zuckerberg says,

"Every minute, people have been posting more than 1,500 status updates on Facebook that contained the word "Haiti."

Zuckerberg is asking people to become fans of Global Relief on Facebook as a first step. At the writing of this post there were over 4.300 fans of Global Relief on Facebook.

Spread the word about Global Relief on Facebook - a very worthwhile effort and thanks to Randi  Zuckerberg for getting it off the ground.
