Globalization seems doing well especially in the area of creating cultural homogeneity. The style of Indian ladies dressing is changed Westerners and others. The Chinese young generation is learning English language breaking the barrier of communication. Technology is ever advancing as a means of configuring and monitoring global business subsidiaries, affiliations, and partnerships. It seems that globalization is alleviating proximity problems. In short, globalization seems doing well though not as expected.
However, globalization seems moving clockwise rather than circularly which could fasten the configuration and integration of businesses of the globe. The USA and European global companies are moving to the East (China, India, etc) while the Eastern global companies (China and India) are moving to Africa without Africa closing the clock. Thus, the movement seems too slow.
This is not only the factor slowing the spread of globalization but also regionalization is challenging it. The Arabs and Africans are aspiring to form their trade blocs as East, west, North and south. This may slow down the spread of globalization further. Is it not?
