The article in Cité Libre titled "God, Religion and Manipulative Extraterrestrials", explores Pagan Gnostic insights on God as presented in organized religion, as an 'alien construct'. Pagan Gnostics implicitly suggest that "God", as presented in religion, is some sort of "Alien Supercomputer", reminiscent of entities depicted in Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.

"It is perhaps a ripe coincidence, that the Coptic word for simulation found in Gnostic texts is hal, recalling HAL the rebellious computer in Kubrick's 2001."
