God Hates Japan: Clickbait for Tsunami Relief
God Hates Japan- Go Ahead, Click It
If you click on God Hates Japan, you'll be surprised by what you find. And you did just click it.
You may expect a Westboro Baptist Church-style hate site, and you probably clicked on it for the same reason you have to look at a car wreck, or a NSFW celeb photo. It's more that you can't not look at it.
It's blatant clickbait, but for a good cause: the site simply links to Medecins Sans Frontieres and the Red Cross. The plan seems to be working: God Hates Japan is surging on Reddit and spreading via Twitter.
If a reader is clicking on godhatesjapan.com in expectation of having his/her own viewpoint validated, then the site may serve as a none-too-subtle reality check.
Helpful Cybersquatting
Also, by setting up godhatesjapan.com, Alejandro Juarez prevented hate groups from getting hold of that particular domain.
Meanwhile, 8,600 people are still missing in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.

Interesting ploy given the Right Wing hasn't seemed to figure out how to turn this tragic event into being about them and THEIR beliefs.
Rush Limbaugh laughed that given all of Japan's attempts at being planet friendly, this happened, like recycling and acts of nature are related to punishment.
