If you are impressed with online-storage solution LiveDrive but don't want to spend money, here is a good news, much rumored Google's online storage and backup solution dubbed GDrive seems to be coming into shape slowly and might get officially announced in coming months, the service is expected to be free offering easy access to online web-storage and backup facilities powered by Google's proven server infra-structure.

Confirming the long-rumored Google Web Drive service, a new sub-domain is recently been added at google.com as http://gdrive.svc-1.google.com/, furthermore, blogger Brian Ussery noted reference for the new service in a Google Pack localization file sent by Google to developers for translation.

The reference reads GDrive placed under "online file backup and storage" category described as:

GDrive provides reliable storage for all of your files, including photos, music and documents. GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device - be it from your desktop, web browser or cellular phone.

It is also worth mentioning that there exist a physical product named G-Drive from G-Technology which might result in a name conflict between the two companies.
