Google's April Fools Prank 2010: Google Jail
Google Goes to Jail for April Fools 2010
Google has their April Fools Day prank prepped and ready to go, so if you don't want the surprise ruined, stop reading now.
Every year Google plays an April Fools Day prank. Last year, Google announced that they had created an artificial intelligence named CADIE (Cognitive Autoheuristic Distributed-Intelligence Entity). The CADIE AI could index your brain to make your thoughts and memories searchable.
For April Fools Day 2010, Google has created 'Google Jails'.
Google Jails for April Fools
Google says they are planning on creating next generation prisons in the United States. They say jails offer the perfect place to test new kinds of social networking, and they believe they can help rehabilitate more than 500,000 prisoners with their new techniques.
Google Jail for Communities
Google is planning to launch an experiment that we hope will make prisons better for everyone. We plan to test ultra high-tech incarceration facilities in one or more trial locations across the country. We will deliver Googleplex-quality services 100 times better than what most American prisoners have access to today, including fiber-to-the-cell connections.
Google has even created a video outlining their plan to 'break into jail'. The video features the Google Jails 'project manager' explaining the project to potential clients.
The gag also comes complete with a FAQ page, where Google outlines plans for new apps that include: speeding up time, creating instant flash mobs, and rewiring gang cliques.
You'll be able to see Google's plan for Google Jail on April 1st 2010.
