As part of the sustainable food program in Isandlwana, KwaZulu Natal, organic gardens are planted, maintained and harvested by the community. There are currently 12 community gardens, worked cooperatively by groups of woman. Despite recent issues with drought, the gardens are producing sustainable results and providing food for many families in the village. Started in 1999, the Zulu Village Project as a whole fosters self-reliance, enhances traditional culture and instills environmental awareness.

This is a photo of The WILD Foundation's organic garden program is KwaZulu Natal Africa. It empowers the community to produce their own food for consumption and sale in sustainable ways. We are extremely proud of the success of the program, and the end results this has for the wild-lands and communities in Africa.
