Hear The Train A Comin'

I know nothing about economics or finances. However, it would seem to me that the things which have led to this current financial crisis isn't anything new. It's been going on for a while now. The housing market has been in the gutter for a couple years. People taking out loans that they can't afford in the first place is a common practice. People buying homes they can't afford is just as common. Everyone knows what happens when these things get out of control. Yet, the people in this field - the companies who specialize in loans and whatnot - stayed the course. They knew what they were doing. They knew what was going to happen, and still they did nothing.

It's like this - someone is standing on a train track. The train keeps getting closer and closer, yet they remain stoic. They hear the train coming. They feel the train coming. They see the train coming. Everybody knows the train is coming.

Sure enough, the train smashes into the person on the track. They're rushed to a hospital where they are pronounced dead. The funeral is held a few days later.

They have paid the price for their utter stupidity.

And we, my fellow taxpayers, are expected to cover the medical bills and funeral expenses of an arrogant idiot none of us have ever met.
