Please skim this article here. The crucial paragraph: "But the good news for scientists, and eventually for you, is that the existence of this particle has been proven, that it’s almost certainly the Higgs Boson and that means the Standard Model of quantum mechanics is correct. This in turn means that resources can be focused on this part of quantum mechanics. Eventually those resources can be used to describe the Higgs Boson more exactly and to determine how it manages to impart mass on other particles and what it is about other particles that makes them more or less affected by the Higgs field and the virtual particles that comprise it."

Resource allocation.

Where you spend your money.

Do you want your hard-earned money to go toward a project that's investigating the (at best) tenuous relationship between mass and short-lived particle now labeled 'a Higgs'? The media representatives cannot even say THE Higgs.. They must necessarily label it A Higgs (meaning there may be more than one). ^^ Wtf? It's a JOKE, right? ..Just because you find some empty containers near your favorite beverage outlet does not mean those containers CAUSED your beverages to exist.. It's laughable, right? ^^ Am I brain-dead or what?!?

There is no such thing as almost certainly. And there is not as yet any certainty that what has been seen with the collider experiments. So far the best that can be said is that they have found what appears to be like [a] Higgs boson. NOT [The] Higgs Boson.

give me short details : what scientists say about higgs boson at cern ? i know that all objects has mass due to higgs boson. but i want to know more about it.please don't wright history of higgs boson.

dear linda, the 'scientists' at CERN have 'discovered' a very heavy short-lived particle associated with certain decay schemes.. "over a hundred times heavier than the proton" (from this link).. ^^ what does this mean exactly? it means they smashed protons and anti-protons at very high speed/energy creating a bunch of very short-lived particles in classes of decay schemes.. they searched many energy levels (corresponding to many different beam speeds) and found 'mostly nothing'.. ^^ BUT at a certain energy level (drum roll.. a drum roll that's been going on for many decades).. THEY FOUND AN UNSTABLE PARTICLE! ISN'T THAT AMAZING?! NO? .. i thought you'd be 'impressed'.. oh well.. perhaps they can find more 'Higgs' and label them force carriers for the 'power of love' ;) isn't there a song by De-Lite "I believe in the power of love.." ^^ i'd much rather they spend billions on projects to understand the power of love over some short-lived super-heavy particle.. [he] right?

I guess all in all, my theory is that you trade money for memories... I spent a month in Europe doing everything I could imagine that I might want to do, it was 2 years ago, I went with my best friend, Voip Billing

The best way, I have spent my money was at the age of 20 years when I started doing part time job and one my first salary bough a sky blue colour suit salwar for my mother and a sky blue turban for my father. Did you know what was my first salary it was just Rs.1500/-. Today also I feel very happy on recalling my past what I better did wtih my money.Voip Billing
