High street retailers massive price cuts before Xmas
On the build up to Christmas many retail outlets are having massive price reductions through out the UK. Some shops are having as mush as 90% on certain objects to get the tills flowing.
B&Q one of the largest retailers are having a massive sale right across all of the chain of stores, with many objects in the rage of 75% off. If you were to go in a purchase a kitchen from B&Q today you would have to fork out around £1500 for say a basic medium sized kitchen with possible fitting charge of around £700, But B&Q say that they are having a massive sale not just on kitchens but on bathrooms as well. So if you go and pick up a kitchen now from Christmas Eve you will bag yourself a right deal with it standing to be 50% off on item and fitting, which is a very good deal, picking up a kitchen plus fitting for £1100 is something to write home about in my opinion.
Super drug will also be on the high street price slashing list, with as many as 25,000 items being sold for a 90% reduction. Normally these price cuts follow Christmas in a bid to release old stock and preparing for the year a head. With all the big stores having these massive sales so early as well, it’s becoming very cut through in the world of retail outlets. Every one of them trying to out do each other with sales and leaving stores open later this Christmas.
Already on the build up to Christmas we have seen stores cut prices all over the board from fashion to electrical with the average saving of 33% on last years sales.
Even with these price cut sales on last year are still down by 10%, so all these frantic stores desperate to get customers through their doors. Many of the bigger companies who can afford to have the cut price sales are putting more and more pressure on smaller firms, Who are struggling to compete and face being closed.
